Well, this was the side show I have been away, showing the result of leather refinishing to a napa leather jacket.

It would be good if you can show your leather finish types.

The refinish is best to match the original finish types.

Black leather finishes could also be in these various finish types:

1] Pure Aniline

2] Semi Aniline

3] NC Pigment

Pictures you see is identified as 3] NC Pigment finish specially for Napa leathers (typically leather from sheep/lamb).
The refinishing is done with color (Pigment-84) follows with topcoat (NC Topcoat-78 satin or matte).

However, used leather has to be cleaned of surface contamination prior to refinishing with Degreaser-2.2 follows with Rinse-3.0

Softening of the leather is done with Hydrator-3.3 follows with Fatliquor-5.0.

It’s for soft lambskin and napa garment leathers; that forms a discontinuous breathable film for wearing comfort.
This is a lacquer emulsion high performance color coat; strong against UV light than standard pigment.
To provide a more color consistency than aniline dyestuff with its buttery softness warm characteristic.

Leather Doctor® NC Topcoat-78G
It’s a gloss finish for lambskin and napa leathers.
This is a soft nitrocellulose lacquer emulsion topcoat.

Leather Doctor® NC Topcoat-78S
It’s a satin finish for lambskin and napa leathers.
This is a soft nitrocellulose lacquer emulsion topcoat.

I will take a picture of it this weekend, and hopefully on Monday I will post it.

All I know about the coat is that is is a soft and smooth leather (not pebbly) I don't know what type of aniline it is. Is there a way I can test it? So I will know exactly what kit to get, unless the kit you suggested will still work for my particualr leather coat.

Pictures appear to have a monotone pigmented look with surface coating. Aniline would have a transparency look with a dye through with the beauty of the grain show through and abrasion will still see the dye coloring through the cross section. Pigmented leathers when abraded will show the un-dyed greyish bluish crust color we see on the 1st picture left shoulder seam. However, there are two pigmented leather types, those fashion wear uses the absorbent breathable “Napa-84 > NapaTop-84S/G” system and the sports wear non-absorbent uses “Micro-54 > MicroTop-54G/S/M” system. Napa leathers are typical lamb/sheep soft leathers that are finished with the ‘Napa’ system. A test for confirmation is by a water droplet test. When easily absorbed in unused areas, it the typical ‘Napa’ type finish.
Please confirm the water droplet test before we go into the system processes.
