Default Bicast - How to rectify the sticky problem of this Bi-Cast Leather Couch?

Roger- I read a thread online about repairing bi-cast leather. The poly has worn off the seating area of our couch and it is now sticky to sit down. I am looking to buy something to put the sheen back on this area.

Here are a couple pictures of the couch and the issue. The couch 1 picture shows the back side of the cushion which is in perfect shape. The couch 2 picture shows the opposite side that is seen and is where your back goes against. The couch 3 shows the full couch. You might be able to make out that at the very back of the couch the material still has a shine and is smooth because it has never been sat on and is normally hidden by the cushion.

It appears that the stickyness/dullness is only in areas that are often used. The rest of the couch has a sheen to it. The leatherique restorer and cleaner has zero effect at all. I tried a few prior to spending the money on the leatherique and they had zero effectiveness as well.

Please let me know what product you may have that could help.

It imparts a non-stick barrier essentially to shield the detrimental effects of sticky soiling including the nasty ballpoint ink. And it does help to release those tenacious dye-transfer stains easily without resorting to unnecessary color refinishing. Its natural draggy-feel protection increases the leather resistance to wet and dry rubs, thus reduce stretch, scuff and abrasion. It is also used as a scuff repairer, filling and concealing surface scuffs to improve appearance. The drag produces an unforgettable familiar sound sweet to the ears when leather is rubbed.

We ordered the Topcoat-56G (gloss) and Protection-D+ a couple weeks ago. I didn't want to spend a ton of money so we bought only these two products for our recently purchased second hand couch. We first got the surface as clean as possible. I bought the finest sandpaper that was available at my local Home Depot and went over the surface. You want to be careful to be even here as any lines will show later. This helped get up a lot of the old blanket fibers stuck to the couch. Once the surface was clean, we put on two coats of the top coat. It dried very quickly with the help of the hair dryer. On the very worn areas I can tell that more product is going to need to be applied. Once everything was dry, we applied the Protection-D+. The end result is a thousand times better than before. There is no more sticking and the couch has a nice sheen to it. We can't be happier with the results.
