Default Nubuck Shag Rug - water damaged!

    Roger,
How should we proceed to clean a Nubuck shag rug that is very soiled and suffered some water damage.

Here's the Suede Leathers Problem Solving Guide-S9.

Step 1] It’s dry soil removal with lots of grooming in 4 directions and thorough vacuuming.

Step 2] Water damaged areas is first treated with Acidifier-2.0 to neutralize any alkaline residue that cause browning.

Step 3] The entire shag is cleaned with Cleaner-3.8, using a shag groomer to stretch and relax the piles simultaneously in one direction for towel extraction; selecting color section of the same type avoiding color transfer if any. This cleaning is repeated in 3 other directions.

Step 4] Repeat rinsing and extracting with Rinse-3.0 as done in step 3.

Step 5] Repeat Hydrating with Hydrator-3.3 as done in step 3.

Step 6] Repeat fatliquoring with Fatliquor-5.5 as done in step 3.

    Step 7] Leave dry naturally.

Step 8] Removed wick-up residues with suede Eraser-5 and brush with suede Brush-3

Step 9] Vacuum and shake off all remaining residues.

Still working on them; some have gone through 4 - 5 improvements; look out for the latest version, though!
