Removing Soot and Smoke from Leather Briefcase.

Hi everyone,

Last week I received a commission to restore some leather goods that had been exposed to smoke in a fire.

That were very smokey smelling and covered in a fair bit of soot.

On advice that Roger gave me, and using Leather Doctor products,

I was able to completely remove the soot and smoke smell from the products,

and after conditioning the leather and replacing the smoky smell with the smell of new leather -

the products were probably in better shape that when they were new.

The client was quite frankly amazed at how soft and freshly leather scented everything turned out.

If you haven't yet tried Leather Doctor products, I would suggest that you look into them.

Better than the pre-soot damage condition, as testified by customer in this instance.

Be cautious when taking up work like this, it could have turned out seriously against our favor.

Thorough inspection and photo records will protect us from pre-existing conditions.

As our customer will examine the articles beyond the soot damage and may point fingers at us.
