I have redone a 100+ year old stool from my grandfather's store. It is twisted wrought iron with a cut piece of rather thick leather attached at the seat. It is not a very finished leather. I cleaned it with saddle soap and applied leather honey conditioner to it, which did revitalize the leather. Yet it is rather matte and dull, while the metal came out shiny and new. I tried using multiple layers of shoe polish and buffing it, to little effect. Would like a finished look with even a little bit of shine being fine. Any suggestions?
Thank you!
