Hi,

Hoping for some guidance. Just received this used 5-year old sofa and am unsure about the level of restoration needed. It is top-grain cigar leather and the item descriptions also refer to it as having a distressed look. I’m not certain how to differentiate between “wrinkles” and “cracks” in the leather and which need repair and which are just part of owning a sofa with this type of leather and treatment. Some areas have more tiny wrinkles than others, and while the majority are light in color and visible in the photos.

You can feel those wrinkles when running your hand across the sofa, but it doesn’t feel particularly rough to the touch. Against bare skin on the legs, it is much more noticeable.

Have I given you enough to go on to determine whether the wrinkles are expected and natural or if this is the result of negligence on the part of the previous owner?

Do you have any recommendations for restoration?

Pictures coming shortly.
