Sheepskin Sheet – after washing and drying, the skin becomes dry and hard.

I have a sheet of sheepskin.
After using more than ten years,
I found there was strong smell.
I washed it.
After drying, the skin was dry and hard.
Which product can help to recover the skin to soften?
The size of it is about 4 feet by 3 feet.
