Hello from new member
Hello Everyone. I know very little about leather restoration and care but would like to learn how to repair a leather photol album, if possible. The book in question was stored on a shelf between two other albums that I believe had plastic protective covers. They were pretty tightly pressed together for some time. The covers on the album have markings on them that contain a sort of cris-cros pattern where the color seems to have faded leaving a grayish-white appeance.
I tried wipng it down and also tried some leather dye but nothing changed. Is there anything I can do to get rid of these marks? I've attached pics of the covers.
Thanks for any help,
Richard

Let's examine the pictures more closely . . .
Am I correct to say that the color coating has delaminated off the fabric backing.
The reverse side of leather is suede.
And the reverse side of simulated leather / vinyl is fabric.
