Bicast: How to Pre-empt a Potential Bi-Cast Leather Rip

Hi Roger,

We believe another rip is starting on our bi-cast leather couch.

It is to the left of the rip that you repaired.

I am able to access the underside of the leather through the seam on the side.

I want to reinforce the area under the potential rip so that hopefully we can prevent it from starting.

Could you let me know how this can be done? What steps should I follow and what products should I use?

In the picture I've attached you can kind of see the indentation to the left of the tear.

As you feel with your fingers through the underside of this potential rip decide what size you want the patch to be!

Since you will be working blind in between the underside of the leather and the foam cushion,
placing the patch with the leatherBond3D™ need some calculated maneuver (without rubbing off the leatherBond3D and placing vertically in place to be pressed thereafter with a flat and firm object on top until dry).

For this special placement the patch has to be a firm piece of vegetable tanned leather minimum 2 to 3mm in thickness (unlike the repair done with 0.04mm thick leather sub patch).

Just wondering why the patch would be leather and not the wire mesh that I have seen in other posts.

Could I order the leatherBond3D from you.

Do you also sell the patches or know what type of store would have them?
