Hi,
I have attached some pictures of my leather sofa.
There are some stains ( urine and similar liquids, food and oil, etc) and also the sofa is de-colourized by sunshine.
I need a product to remove the stains and also something for re-colouring.
I have attached the original colour too.
Please advice.
Thanks

The stains have to go before we talk about re-coloring; as these are aniline leathers being absorbent; stains are penetrated; has to be removed from below the surface; which is more difficult than if it just sits on the surface.

The original color used is Aniline transparent dye; that helps to enhance the natural beauty of the grain; to re-color using the same color and type (transparent) may also enhances the stains if they are not removed completely; so the coloring will be the last decision depending on the ongoing progress to bring back the color from the structure as much as possible with the help of Hydrator-3.3 and Fatliquor-5.0; we would have three options by then either using the same transparent type of the same color; or darker able to cover the remaining stains; or a translucent dye that has a more stain hiding power (but the trade off is it loose the aesthetic value of the leather).

So it would be first the removal of stains and restorative cleaning as Phase 1.

Second is to rejuvenate the leather for suppleness; reducing the creases and loose stretches; and reactivate the dyes in the leather structure to move to the surface to reduce the saturation difference as Phase 2.

Third we can talk about restoring the color as Phase 3.

Phase 1
Product requirement:
General Restorative Cleaning System:
1] Prep-4.4 to be used as a general preparatory cleaner.
2] Cleaner-3.8 to be used as a general purpose cleaner.
3] Rinse-3.0 to be used as a general acidifying rinse.
Specialty Removal System:
4] d’Urine-2.1 to be used to neutralize the ammonia and phosphorus salt from preventing the leather from “reverse-tanning”.
5] d’Protein-11.0 to be used on protein based stains to break up the coagulation.
6] d’Tarnish-1.3 to be used on blood stains after d’Protein-11.0 to oxidize the remaining iron rust stains.
7] Degreaser-2.2 to be used on penetrated oils and grease.
Tools requirements:
1] Leather Brush-1 (detailing horsehair brush).
2] Leather Eraser-4 (to erase wick up soiling particulates).
3] White absorbent towels.
4] Bamboo skewers (to breakup coagulated protein stains).

Phase 2
Product requirement:
1] Hydrator-3.3
2] Fatliquor-5.0
Other requirement:
1] See through plastic sheet to cover the entire sofa to control evaporation during the hydrating process.

Phase 3
Will depends how Phase 1 and 2 turns out to decide on the product options.
Tools requirements:
1] A airbrushing set with air compressor.
