I have a 10 yr. old leather sofa, dark green, that my black lab has called his own for a long time. Now he gets in our pond and then on the couch when we're not looking. The couch has a really bad odor. I've tried several leather cleaners and conditioners, also Murphy's Oil Soap. Nothing seems to help. Suggestions please.

The fresh smell may come from the body oil that has impregnated the leather; the old smell may come from bacteria activities.

To get rid of the smell the oil and grease need to be strip off the leather finish and from the leather structure.

It is either using Prep-7.7 for pigmented leathers and Prep-4.4 for aniline leathers to do surface stripping and Degreaser-2.2 to do the penetrated grease and oil.

This is then cleaned with Cleaner-3.8 follows by Rinse-3.0.

Fresh odors traces can be further by masked be d’Odor-4.5.

To stop the bacteria activities a leather safe bactericide; d’Bacteria-3.7 is applied.

Leather Scent-B helps to return the leather back to its original scent.

Post some pictures and we can go into further details
