Hello, I got this vintage shearling, the wool inside is very soft and fluffy, it feels great, it smells a bit, but not too bad.. However the outside of the coat is in a bad state, there is a lot of little dots all over the outside/ flesh side of the leather, including inside the pockets, it looks like it might have a nappalan coat that was damaged by mold or some chemical spray? Under these dots I can see the suede texture. Is it possible to fix it somehow? Is it possible to restore the coating? Is it possible to remove the coating and keep the suede underneath?

>>> Hello, I got this vintage shearling, the wool inside is very soft and fluffy, it feels great, it smells a bit, but not too bad..

The wool face is cleaned with Woolskin Cleaner-5.5,
https://leatherdoctor.com/woolskin-cleaner-5-5/

this product has built-in sanitizer to reduce wool's natural odor when wet and rinsed with Woolskin Rinse-4.0.
https://leatherdoctor.com/woolskin-rinse-4-0/

If odor unknown smell is still present then it then Odor Cleaner-4.5
https://leatherdoctor.com/leather-odor-cleaner-4-5/

helps to generally deodorize. But if it is musty from mold, then you will need Mold Killer-3.6

Since suede has been shown, use the suede system for cleaning with Suede Cleaner-4.5
https://leatherdoctor.com/suede-cleaner-4-5/ and Suede Rinse-2.3

Fixing or coating the suede into a nappalan (smooth) will require a 'clear' Aniline Dye-76
https://leatherdoctor.com/aniline-leather-dye-76/

and topcoat with Aniline-21W

>>> Is it possible to restore the coating?

Yes!

>>> Is it possible to remove the coating and keep the suede underneath?

Yes!
