Hi.

I’d like some advice on how to restore this vintage bag. The leather is very very dry. It is also deformed where the straps hit the flap and the leather is peeling off. No interior peeling.

I was just wondering if you think I can restore the suppleness of this bag? And what kind of products should I use?

Yes, the suppleness of this bag can be improved, when we say leather is dry, it means the fatliquor (fat and oil) has dry up. Fatliquor is the lifeblood of leather. When new it's about 14%, if we top up the difference, then the suppleness returns.

The main product to restore the 'very very dry' is Hydrator-3.3 followed by Fatliquor-5.0 and cleaned up with Hydrator-3.3 so that the fat and oil only stay below the surface of the leather structure. But you will need a holistic restorative cleaning before and after hydrating and conditioning the leather

You can consider repair and refinish thereafter.
