Hi there,

I own a drumstick which belonged to famous heavy metal drummer, received at a previous gig. Unfortunately, it has been poorly stored for a number of years and is now showing signs of mould on the faux-leather strapping placed around the handle of the stick (image attached).

I am keen to clean the mould from the strapping, without causing the strapping to lose its adhesive and come away.

Can anyone please advise what the best way to do this would be?

Thank you very much!
H.

A leather eraser is the best option to erase the mould surface growth without affecting the adhesive.

And for the control of mould, a leather fungicide is recommended on a periodic basis for about 6 to 9 months intervals, depending on the humidity and UV or sunlight or air movement where the drumstick is stored.
This product is water-based and will not interfere with solvent-based or crosslinked water-based adhesive.
