This is a Stressless® recliner make by Ekornes.

And they have four grades of leather.

I suggest we go for the Micro-Pigment for the refinishing as it produce finer finishing good for “hand” and “feel”.

As the thicker the refinishing the cheaper becomes the grade of the leather.

And one observation is we see more finish cracking on standard pigmented leather than micro-pigmented semi-aniline leathers.

So my suggested Cleaning and Restoration process is as follows:

Step 1 -Prep Cleaning:
Use Prep7.7 > Cleaner3.8 > Rinse3.0
Razor60 off deteriorated finishes around finish damaged areas follows in combination with the rinsing process.

Step 2 - Degreasing:
Use Degreaser2.2 > Rinse3.0 the damaged areas and scud with Razor60.

Step 3 - Fatliquoring:
When the entire finishing turns dark with soak-up moisture – it’s an indication that it’s a Micro-Pigmented leather.
Therefore the entire surface has to be even out with help of Hydrator3.3 prior to fatliquor.
Effective hydrating can be accomplished by wrapping the chair with plastic to control evaporation.
Fast fatliquoring would thereafter be accomplished with help of a foam brush or hand massaging.
To ensure that surface fatliquor is fully utilized, spray and rinse the fatliquor into the leather structure to a squeaky feel.

Step 4 - Dry Prep:
Use 1200 – 1500 sand grit to remove old and deteriorated finishes (not damaging the grains if possible).

Step 5 – Impregnating:
Use Impregnator26 on the worn areas only to:
Seal, strengthen and leveling out uneven absorption for further coating process.
It’s to fill and tighten with good leveling properties that is film forming for improve abrasion resistance.

Step 6 – Adhesion Coating:
Use Adhesor73 to ensure proper adhesion prior to color coating concentrating on the worn areas.

Step 7 – Color Coating
Use Pigment Micro54 - an aqueous soft compact resin blend high performance fine micro-pigment color.

Step 8 – Top Coating
Use Topcoat Micro72 – gloss or matte for Micro-Pigmented, Semi-Aniline leathers.
Gloss is always tougher and stronger than matte.
This micro-pigment topcoat is an aqueous soft polyurethane leather topcoat.
It is lightfast and non-yellowing.
It has excellent flow and leveling properties.

Step 9 – Non-stick Protection
Use Leather Scent’B - This is a non-film forming, non-stick protector that enhances a soft natural buttery-feel with a classic leather scent that charms.
It’s for imparting a non-stick breathable barrier essentially to shield the detrimental effects of sticky soiling including the nasty ballpoint ink.
And for helping to release those tenacious dye-transfers stains especially on light colored leathers easily without resorting to unnecessary color refinishing.
Its natural buttery-feel protection increases the leather resistance to wet and dry rubs, thus reduce stretch, scuff and abrasion.
And it reduces friction squeaks that wear the finishes when leather rubs against leather during movement.
Or friction that wear the finishes caused by getting in and out of auto especially the driver’s seat.

We would like to see how it turns out?

We received these without a name on them. Just wanted to make sure if these are for this leather or for another one that we custom ordered. Because step 7 in the above instructions says to use Pigment Micro54. Thanks.
