How to Restore both the Leather Structure and the Pigmented Finishes to this 15 yrs Sofa and Ottoman?

The recommended cleaning process is as follows:

A) Prep Cleaning.
1. prep7.7 > cleaner3.8 > rinse3.0 + razor60 off the deteriorated and worn-out pigmented finishes to the leather crust of entire three seat cushion.

B) Fatliquoring System to soften and strengthen leather structure - prevents future cracks.
2. hydrator3.3 > fatliquor5.0 > rinse3.0.

C) Dry Prep.
3. razor60 > fine sanding 1000 - 1500 sanding grit.

D) Structural Repair - tighten structural loose grains for extra wear resistance.
4. impregnator26

E) Adhesion Coating
5. adhesion73

F) Color Coating
6. semiColor54 - custom color

G) Top Coating
7. semiTop72M

H) A non-stick buttery feel conditioner with a classic leather scent that reduces friction on the leather surface thus prolongs the durability of the leather finishes on a regular basis.
8. leatherScent’B

Any question on the procedure?

This is the sample received.

We are looking at the reverse suede side.

The entire leather is aniline dyed through prior to micro-pigmented to produce semi-aniline leather.

Both names (micro-pigmented and semi-aniline) refers to the same leather type.

The dyes when activated during the overnight dwell with hydrator3.3 should bring up the dyes to the worn areas.

Structural repairs with “leather impregnator” not only strengthen the loose worn out grains, it reduce porosity.

By doing so it levels out and maintains uniform absorbency, thus reduce the tendency to use color unevenly.

Remember to mix 5 to 10% “thickener” for better flow control especially on vertical panels.

And let’s see the final result!

Used impregnator three times in areas & wiped off the excess. Used adhesion & applied semiColor54. Feels good but in some areas especially the ottoman the scratches did not fill as well as I thought. What should I do?

Use Leather Filler90.

Your custom color can be added to it.

Where places that are subjected to flexes add Leather Bond3D for flexing strength.

You will very soon realized that there is no fun doing repairs with Filler90 after the color coat, instead the following sequence of process should follow:

Dry Prep > Impregnator26 > Filler90 > Adhesor73 > Color > Topcoat > Feelcoat.

Sure it looks good!

Besides restoring the aesthetic of sight, other leather attributes these pictures cannot tell are:

Its suppleness after rejuvenating with enough fatliquor is where the customer appreciates the comfort, strength and softness of leather.

The leather buttery feel with its non-stick protection and the classical leather scent that charms makes leather universally desirable.

Keep it up with your good work!
