I just had my Ostrich Hermes Sac a Deputies returned to me from a disastrous "refurbishment." It was natural (nude) ostrich that was stained, but beautiful. After unsuccessfully removing the "staining," she suggested we dye the bag a dark color. She dyed and then applied "tons of pigment" on it for coverage, however it's blotchy, uneven and feels like plastic. Is there any chance you could share what you might think be going on here?

Can anything be done to the bag at this point? I am willing to do whatever it takes to get a natural finish to the bag again, including removing the pigment (if possible) and possible coloring it black. I appreciate your time and advice.10248102561025510254102531025210251102501024910257

Yes, just undo what has been done and see what was revealed.
Refinishing it with a “transparent” aniline into a darker intensity to camouflage is the approach.

Thinking of doing it yourselves?

I am willing to do it myself with the proper materials, etc. but am open to having it done professionally.

You will need airbrushes to have fine spray either you do it or professionally

I can see brush strokes done with this job.

With an airbrush with some practice, you will do a better job, than what I see.
