Roger,
We need to restore this faded sofa and loveseat. It is very faded but in great condition other than fading. What dye will we need and the procedure to restore it?

>>> What dye will we need?

To replicate the original dyeing process, this is the recommendation:

A1- Deep staining the suede structure, use Suede-17 (transparent dyestuff).

A2- Dye fixing dyestuff from bleeding with Acidifier-2.0.

Inspect to scrutinize satisfaction, otherwise option is to:

A3- Apply an opaque dyestuff like Suede-39 to even out color intensity.
(Suede-39 may also be added (4: 1 to 1: 1) to suede -17 to increase opacity, as well).

A4- DyeFix-99 is applied to reduce crocking or dry rub-off.

>>> And the procedure to restore it?

B1- Exfoliating aging and dry rotting fibers and recreating new naps with SuedeEraser-5.

B2- Groom with SuedeNapaBrush-2 accordingly to review a "nappy finger writing effect".

B3- Degreasing is the basic wet preparation to ensure efficient dyestuff adhesion with
Degreaser-2 2 > Acidifier-2.0 > Hydrator-3.3 system.

B4- All known stain is further removed accordingly.

B5- Activate dormant dyestuff to resurface with Hydrator-3.3 system.

B6- Suede-17, a transparent dyestuff is applied to penetrate the suede fiber.

B7- Acidifier-2.0 sets the dyestuff from excessive bleeding.

B8- Let to natural drying for color coverage inspection.

B9- Suede-39, an opaque dyestuff is applied to even out coverage.

B10- DyeFix-99 is applied to reduce crocking or dry color rub-off.

B11- Dyed suede is season with a white cotton terry towel, to remove excess coloring.

B12- Hydrator-3.3 redistribute and even out color and Fatliquor-5.0 is applied to impart strength and suppleness to the suede fiber.

B13- Fatliquor residue is removed with Hydrator-3.3.

B14- Protector-W+ is applied to impart a non-stick, waxyfeel with a classic leather scent.

We are still getting a little color rubbing off, should we use more Dye Fix?

Yes! you may.

Prior to more DyeFix-99, use a dry cotton terry towel to remove excess coloring to further season it.

Good job done!

Do you think we have to make adjustment to the sequence-of-procedure as described in my post #2, from B1 to B 14?
