Roger,
This client has 16 of these very nice but very soiled and stained chairs. Can we restore them without dye? And if we have to dye them can we keep them aniline? I'm sure they had a lot of stains, fading and soil prior to roof leaking on some of them. But I brought back the worse one to try and restore it and see how long it will take and the effort involved.

>>> Can we restore them without dye?

Quite possible!

>>> And if we have to dye them can we keep them aniline?

Yes, back to aniline.

>>> I'm sure they had a lot of stains, fading and soil prior to roof leaking on some of them.

The dormant aniline dyestuff of dye-through or vat dyed is activated by Hydrtor-3.3, A heavy wet through the suede side will help to redistribute the fugitive leather constituents (tanning agents, dyestuff & fatliquor). The water marks should disappear and the entire leather will take on a richer color saturation. When color is redistributed to an even appearance AnilineTop-76G is still require to restore its original gloss luster.

>>> But I brought back the worse one to try and restore it and see how long it will take and the effort involved.

Show you progress and we can discuss further.

>>> 2-1 D Close up of inside back upper

Note that this right corner shows the leather dryness - a deep Hydrator-3.3 follows with sufficient Fatliquor-5.0 will certainly reduces the cracking effect.

>>> 2-1 C Close up of front of seat left side

Possible to be some grease stain - use Degreaser-2.2 > Acidifier-2.0 > Hydrator-3.3 system to remove it.

>>> 2-1 B Worse chair
Fading on the head rest as compared to the seat - Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0 > Hydrator-3.3 to even out the color difference.

By the way, what is the result of the “Sting-Ray Cabinet with a dark and red popsicle stain?
Could you post the final result of the restoration, please?

2-14 A Saturated with hydrator for several days

9107
2-14 B Agitating with aniline eraser

9108
2-14 C Working agressively with eraser to move dyestuff

Stains still remain what should we try next before we let it dry up?

How was the CleanDye-7.9 effect on the Stingray cabinet?

You may give it a try here to move the dye, and need to follow up with Acidifier-2.0 to pH-balance and rinse off suds free.

Let see some result,

Otherwise Vachetta-2.8 may be tested on when dry.

We used Clean dye on this chair and it seemed to help.

Please show where you have applied.

It should be able to move migrating dyestuff.

When you are exhausted with this new product CleanDye-7.9, we can go further with Vachetta-2.8, then.
