Roger,
A designer has this chair that matches another. This chair looks like something was dripped on it and then someone tried to clean it? It looks abraded, like they rubbed it and removed some dye? I did a light clean3.8 and rinse with little difference. I think that a little dye will help cover it. It isn't worth custom mixing dye. So I was going to use micro -54. Designer called it kidskin, so I think it's goat.

To a leather restorer, the finishes is what matters and since it has an opaque appearance going to use the Micro-54 system is correct.

Adding Bond-3D to the custom matching (white + black + ochre) Micro-54 helps to fill and smooth out the abrasion.
There after the entire chair is refinished accordingly with (Preparatory Cleaning + Dry Preparation + Adhesion Coating + Custom Color Coating + Top Coating + Non-Stick Protector)
