>>> The dot you see on the left is mine from matching using your base with no thickener. I used 535ml of your Bauld mix, 160 ml of white and 15 ML red to achieve that smooth salmon.
The dot next to it is your mixture with no thickener, next to that has 5% and then dot above has 10%. Even when Thickener pulled the pink and brown more together it was still a brownish pink not a salmon.
I get where you were going with the thickener to pull the dyes together and stop the from separating (as shown on the towel with pink in the middle and a brown halo. But even with it being pulled together It was not light enough. But at this point with my added colors I am very happy with where the dye color is now and the texture.

I understand and you have done it right.
Tips-1:
A concentrate of Aniline-76 clear may help to stabilize such a situation where the mix of different specific gravity is at the extreme end - heavier sinks and lighter floats - thus the separation. Final test should be done on the leather itself not on absorbent paper - it shows the lighter weight pigments moves faster and heavier pigment just stick together and does not move to give the halo effect - it will be less obvious on a non-absorbent surface as posted by Nichole #3. Let see on the same surface how it looks like.
Thickener-48 up to 10% helps.
What you have done also helps.
Color matching ultimately may still need fine tuning at your end (a larger surface then from a little square sample), thus a collection of some standard colors do comes handy.
Tips-2:
Make sure you do not under-estimate the quantity you need when you order a custom color - even with a given formula - it is universally accepted to have a 5 - 10% variance from subsequent mix - the lighter color the more the variance will be.
Color matching sometimes just like this case takes the whole day (and time costly) to get it right - that is why it take longer then usual and Chet is not too happy.
