Need help in identifying the type of stain

Hi, after lurking on the forum for a couple of days I found out that you guys are very helpful and I want to purchase your product to solve my current stain issue. Problem is I don't know what caused the stain so I don't know what product to pick.

The manufacturer of my chair says the chair is made of semi-aniline, top grain leather. I apologize if I posted on the wrong forum.

Here's a couple photos to help you identify the type of leather:

On the seat cushion cover there are couple of spot stains, the largest one about 1 1/2" to 1/2". The stains are darker than the rest of the leather surface, texture wise it feels slightly harder to touch (kind of like when a thin layer of glue dried on your skin).

I am wondering if there are products that I can apply onto the surface to clean this off?

Noticed a lot of old sofa on this forums that have a large area of body oil stains, is there any preventive measures for this? Would regular cleaning with damp cloth be sufficient?

Do a water droplet test on the underside (when you take off the cushion) if the water droplet pools on its surface or it being absorbed and darkens it.

This test will give us a clue of your mysterious "couple of spots stains".

When you have access to the reverse suede side see if the spots go through.

Hi Roger, I did the water drop test. The water got absorbed and darkened the leather underneath the cushion64226422

Can you show us how it looks when dry?

Does the water marks stains look the same as those spots mentioned?

Hi Roger, just to clarify, the above pic shows the darkened spot from the water droplets test. When it is dry the underside looks like the lighter brown surrounding the water spot, even for the area underneath the stain.

I can take a photo of the dried underside when I get home

This water testing will tell us if the stains that you mention is similar, thus the surface stain is as important if there is.
