Sauvage/Molted/Tipped/Wiped/Cloudy/Kela-Effect leather finishes are two-tone fashion effect with two or more darker secondary translucent colors that add depth and character to the lighter primary opaque color to create a multi-colored leather appearance. This effect is done with various application techniques such as random spraying, spraying through a stencil with different shades of colors, tipping or wiping. Without a buttery-feel rub-resistant protector (Protector-B) on a routine basis, these delicate secondary fashion effects often wears off from friction rubs and becomes easily removed during cleaning especially with prolonged body oil, grease and sweat contamination.

A holistic restoration to the structure and the lost of secondary finishes is done by sequence of stages or phases.

A - Preparation Cleaning:
The leather is prep clean with Degreaser-2.2 and follows with Rinse-3.0 in heavy body contact areas, Prep-7.7 > Clean-3.8 > Rinse on non-body contact areas and stripping the entire secondary colors with Stripper-2.3 to have an even appearance for an easier refinishing.

B - pH Balancing of Tackiness:
Any surface alkaline overexposure tackiness is rectified or pH balanced with Acidifier-2.0 until a healthy squeaky-feel.

C - Correction of Creases and Wrinkles:
Leather unnatural creases and wrinkles are relaxed during the Hydrator-3.3 process to return to its original dimension by cross stretching.

D - Restoring Leather Suppleness:
Diminishes fatliquor is replenished with Fatliquor-5.0 to retain softness and strength to the leather structure, thus prevents leather from stiffness that leads to cracking.

E - Structural Strengthening:
Optional impregnating the leather structure from the suede side to tighten-up the loose fibers with Impregnator-26 rectifies overstretching and structure looseness.

F- Repairs:
Repairs of rips are by Bond-3D in combination with Patch-4S. Filling is done with Stucco-90 in combination with Bond-3D on body contact surface with added flexibility without cracking.

G - Sealer/Primer/Adhesion Coating:
The prepped surface is sealed by deep brushing and etched by scouring pad (3M Grey or equivalent) with Adhesor-73 and excess or soiling extracted with a lint free white towel.

H - Secondary Color Fashion Effect Coating:
Secondary translucent color 2Tone-37 application is applied accordingly to recreate the matching desired fashion effect.

I – Top Coating:
MicroTop-54S satin seals and protects the fashion effect for aesthetic and wear, also determines the desired luster level.

J – Crosslinking the Top Coat:
Crosslinker-25 a 10% by weight added to the MicroTop54S improves the topcoat performance eliminating any potential tacky effect from existing base finishes.

K – Rub-Resistant Protection:
A non-stick, rub-resistant protector imparts a buttery-feel with a classic leather scent with Protector-B+ (or scentless Protector-B) completes this holistic restoration most common to these two-tone fashion effects leathers.
