Roger, We will be restoring and need dye for this 3 piece set of quality furniture. As you will see in the pictures the back of the sofa is severely faded, and there are scratches from a pet on the bottom cushions.
We think we will need 1 Qt of Micro-54, let us know if you think we should use a different dye?

>>> let us know if you think we should use a different dye?

The original color is 'Aniline' and not 'pigmented'.

Since it is a dark color - Aniline-76 recommended to retain its 'quality'.

Micro-54 will downgrade to a 'lower' quality - neither you, your customer or me will appreciate.

Balanced up the appearance difference with Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0

Worn is smooth up with Adhesor-73 between fine sanding where necessary

Aniline leather is a leather type colored exclusively by transparent staining dyestuff with the beauty of the grain magnifies or amplifies with a clear urethane topcoat either in gloss or satin luster. Its original smooth buttery-feel softness need be maintained routinely with buttery-feel, rub resistant protector from becoming noisy through friction rubs that translate into wears or abrasions. Replenishing the original fatliquor that diminishes on a regular basis not only prevent cracks but also helps resist the leather from easily becoming absorbent from body contacts especially the armrest and headrest of upholstery.

Leather DoctorŽ Kit-A7.cl, aniline leather dye refinishing kit is designed for dyestuff and topcoat refinishing from the simple sunlight fading to the severely sweat damages from body oil and grease. Most severely penetrated, prolonged and neglected stains show a darkening effect with a sticky feel have its topcoat and dyestuff probably deteriorated by the sweat. When the stain feels sticky, it is a sign of leather denaturing and reverting to rawhide from breaking of bonds with the tanning agent. When sign of color is transfer to a white towel, it indicates that the dyestuff has also break bonds with the protein fiber. When leather is stiff or shows signs of whitish residue migrating, it shows that the fatliquor is breaking bonds as well with the protein fiber. The main component of the leather protein fiber is amphoteric while the other constituents are not; shifting of the pH mainly caused from sweat to alkalinity affects the pH imbalance. To revert from denaturing into rawhide prior to topcoat refinishing, contaminated alkaline soiling is removed with Degreaser-2.2, a waterbased (pH 2.2) multifunctional degreaser that emulsifies greasy contamination besides controlling dye bleeding and charging the protein fiber ionic positive for strengthening the attraction between the ionic negative tanning agent, dyestuff and fatliquor. Deflocculated and suspended soiling is towel extracted, thereafter rinse and pH balanced with Acidifier-2.0 to prevent the leather from reverting to rawhide. When leather feels sticky or slimy it is a sign of leather denaturing, a squeaky feel when wet is a sign of a healthy leather. Hydrator-3.3 relaxes stiff leathers and removes surface tension free from surface blotchiness prior to fat and oil replenishing. Fat and oil is replenished with Fatliquor-5.0 to rejuvenate the leather for the desired suppleness when dry. Custom redyeing commences prior to topcoat refinishing. Protector-B+ imparts a non-stick rub-resistant protection with a buttery-feel that shield against sticky soiling and reduce friction noises. Note that the mentioned product suffix number denotes its pH value in this holistic leather-safe aniline leathers dyestuff and topcoat refinishing system.

I'm ok with switching to 1 Qt Aniline 76 but would like to order 250ml Micro-54 also.

Semi-aniline would not have shown severe sun fading as picture 40-30F and 40-31G.

Aniline is more certain and it is also of a higher value - recommend that it should be refinished as Aniline to retain its original value.

And since the color is almost black it is a straight forward application as color intensity control is not an issue.

Top coat should be upgraded to Anilne-76 either gloss or satin.

For dark color satin may have a cloudy issue due to the duller.

Gloss have more strength thus first with Gloss and luster adjustment by Satin

Please decide your order to be in Micro-54 or Aniline-76?
