Hakim- Antique finish chair- procedure
1. Keep wet/ damp from the time you start.
2. Apply Prep-4.4
a. Agitate
b. Extract
c. If getting some results repeat
Tips:
Use horsehair Brush-1 to agitate or work in creases of accumulated soiling if any.
White terry towel extract until towel shows clean.
3. Rinse
a. Apply and extract – proceed if you’re getting a result
Tips:
Spray Rinse-3.0, brush agitates and towel extracts until towel shows clean.
4. Re-apply Prep-4.4
a. Cover and Dwell overnight
Tips:
Covering without rubbing off the Prep-4.4.
Alternative is to move to an enclosed room without ventilation for slow drying chemical reaction.
5. Clean-3.8
a. Apply agitate and extract
Tips:
Spray, brush-agitates and towel extract until it shows clean.
6. Rinse-3.0
a. Apply and extract
Tips:
Spray, brush-agitates and towel extract until it shows clean.
7. Degreaser-2.2 - Only areas where there may be remaining perspiration or oily residue
a. Agitate and extract- repeat if you’re getting results
b. Re-apply and dwell overnight.
8. Rinse with Acidifier-2.0
a. Extract and repeat till squeaky-clean.
Tips:
Acidifier-2.0 is to pH balance any tacky or slimy wet feel from leather denaturing or reverting to rawhide.
9. WET SAND- to help remove remaining topcoat and help Hydrator-3.3 and Fatliquor-5.0 to penetrate.
a. Use Acidifier-2.0 on previous greasy oily areas
b. Use Hydrator-3.3 on areas area that needs moisture; especially seat cushion and damaged areas.
Also use Hydrator-3.3 over the areas you used Acidifier-2.0.
c. Use Rinse-3.0 on non-used areas, sides back, and covered areas.
d. 600grit on very cracked rough areas, 1000 on worn areas, 1500/2000 all over
10. Extract loosened residues with towels
11. Hydrator-3.3 - cover and dwell for 3 days.
a. Keep hydrated in problem areas (dry cracked areas)
12. Fatliquor-5.0
a. Seat cushion and other dry cracked areas.
13. Wet sand - problem areas as needed.
14. Extract with towels while drying
15. Dry- allow to naturally dry
a. Can use air movers
Tips:
Natural drying produces softer leather than air movers drying.
16. Apply Adhesor
a. Agitate in with 3m pad
b. Extract with paper towels
Tips:
Adhesor-73 is always after Impregnator-26.
17. Use Impregnator-26 to strengthen weak areas if necessary.
a. Apply into cracks and wipe off surrounding areas with paper towels or appropriate sanding.
18. Repair remaining cracks
a. Apply 3D to cracks and wipe off surrounding area
b. Fill to 75%
c. Mix 3D with Primary (matching) color and finish filling.
d. May need to mix 3D with Stucco-90 and color for deeper scratches and cracks
19. Sand in between as necessary
a. Repeat filling and sanding until leveled and smooth.
20. Apply Adhesor-73 again
a. Scrub in and extract off with towels
21. Apply Antique-27 dye
a. Multiple coats until uniform, drying in-between
b. Sanding if necessary between coats with 2000 grit
Tips:
Up to 10% Thickener-48 is added to the color to increase viscosity to control flow between grains and vertical panels where necessary.
22. Apply AnilineTop-21 or 76 (heavy-duty)- Gloss
23. Allow curing overnight.
