I recently refinished some parts in my car with the napa topcoat 84 mixed with duller which includes the steering wheel. However, it seems that the topcoat is removed and damaged with simple cleanings including leather cleaners and soft leather soaps. The only thing that doesnt seem to damage the finish is water which does nothing for hand oils on the steering wheel.

Please do a comparative test on an inconspicuous area – with and without the duller.
It could be the duller or incompatible system in the first place.
Alternative is to redo with Adhesor-73 > Micro-54 > MicroTop-54 (matte or dull).

What is the difference between the microtop and napa top? Also, does the crosslinker help with adhesion? If so, would crosslinker and adhesor be ok?

>>> What is the difference between the MicroTop-54 and NapaTop-84?

MicroTop-54 is an urethane topcoat that forms a “continuous film”.

NapaTop-84 is a nitrocellulose topcoat that forms a “discontinuous film”.

>>> Also, does the Crosslinker-25 help with adhesion?

Crosslinker-25 is only used when there is a finish problem that stickiness, otherwise it is not recommended as it is super strong and may be difficult in removing them and may also pose difficulties in future coatings. It is only used in MicroTop-54.

>>> If so, would Crosslinker-25 and Adhesor-73 be ok?
These products are used in this sequence: Adhesor-73 > Micro-54 > MicroTop-54 + Crosslinker-25.

Tips:
The term napa may refer to the leather without splitting, either from a small animal usually sheep for garment or calf for upholstery and may be micro-pigmented with Adhesor-73 > Micro-54 > MicroTop-54 finishing system.

Napa in garment refers to the un-split leather and also using Napa-84 > NapaTop-84 refinishing system.

Napa refinishing system differentiates in the ability to be absorbent as water droplet easily being absorbed into the leather. Napa leather for upholstery is usually micro-pigmented and water droplet pools on the surface.
