View Full Version : Zebra Rug is Dry, Curling and Rip.

Questions!

After reading a blog online, I think I might need the repair kit H7.
My rug is dry and has a rip in it plus it is curling at the edges.
How can I get the repair kit?

I'm sending a few photos. As you will see, i will need to patch the tear in the hide.
After the necessary repairs, I plan to attach a heavy black felt for backing and to add stability.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Fatliquoring is to lubricate and plump the inter fibrillary structure for flexibility and strength.

It is when the hide is relaxed, lays flat, soft and strong that any repairs commence.
There is an option on how the repairs are best performed.
Leather Bond-3D is the product to do the repairs.
A super thin 0.04mm and strong leather sub-patch is used that is bond suede to suede.
A more aesthetic repairs would used suede fibers instead, just the way a fiberglass repairs is made.

Any backing to the repaired rug is not necessary as it becomes a burden to the hide.
Imagine a building that has done some repairs and the scaffolding is still in place.
The hide needs to breathe and any future leather rejuvenating is conveniently executed.

Emil me for prices.

Before we start, let’s have some picture of the reverse suede side.

This hide has to be repaired from the suede side before any cleaning can be done on the hair side.

The procedure should follow this sequence:
1. Dry Soil Removing:
This is done with Eraser-4 follows with vacuuming.
2. Wet Soil Removing:
This is done with Cleaner-3.8 > Rinse-3.0.
3. Leather Rejuvenating:
This is done with Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0
4. Bonding Repair
Bond-3D > Patch-4S or Donor Suede fibers.

When the suede size restoration is complete with satisfaction we turn the hide over to clean the hair side.
1. Dry Soil Removing:
Vacuum clean it.
2. Wet Cleaning:
Use Cleaner-5.5 > Rinse-4.0
3. Rub-resistant Protection:
Use Protector-S+

The practical approach is to do up a section, and I think the tail as shown in picture #3 above would be a go starter.

Let ‘s see some pictures of the reverse before we go into details.

I'm posting some photos of the back. looks like a lot of work but I'm up for the task.
I have Rinse 4.0 but not Eraser 4.
