Aniline -Sauvage- How to salvage the darkening effect from Vinegar + Linseed Oil and Leatherique Rejuvenator + Clean from this 8 years old leather couch?
Vinegar and linseed oil was used one month ago. This cushion soaked it up but not the others. Then after 3 days was suddenly darker. Leatherique product of rejuvenator and clean was used. Some yellow dye was removed and softened the dark cushion by the Leatherique products. No food, drinks, animals have ever been on the couch. It is 8 years old and is of high quality. I want the dark removed. If not then dye the whole couch.
Hope these pictures give you enough information to determine if the seat can be dyed to a dark honey color, darker than the rest of the couch as it is now. Thank you for responding. Elizabeth
I tried to restore original color of dark pumpkin.
Linseed oil and vinegar were mixed as a 1:3 mixture, vinegar being 1 cup, linseed 3 cups. That total was put on with a rag on the couch except not the back. Nothing has been put on the back of couch. The dark brown cushion seemed to soak in quickly so more was rubbed on that cushion. Three times more than the others.
Rejuvenator was used for three days in a row on the one cushion followed by the Prestine clean, about 1/2 cup total of each. Prior to this nothing has been used to clean except damp cloth once a year.
