Pictures #1 & #2 shows abrasion that causes the lost of color.

The sequence of repairs would be:

    1] Restorative Cleaning – Prep-7.7 > Cleaner-3.8 > Rinse-3.0

    2] Adhesion Coating – Use Adhesor-73

    3] Color Coat – Use Pigment-64 + Thickener-48.

4] Top Coat – Use Topcoat-56 matching luster with Matte, Satin or Gloss.

5] Rub Resistant Protection – Use Leather Scent-B.

Picture #3 shows scar damages that will require a filling repair. For leather repair heat is not require and it’s simpler; but simulated leathers (vinyl/PVC) require heat to cure the vinyl compound which require more skill to achieve comparable result. I would recommend a leather repair as it is reversible if we do not achieve the result that we want. For using heat repairs, it usually ends up a macro repairs. I would prefer to practice the micro repairs with No heat involved.

The leather repair process is as follows:

    1] Restoration cleaning to remove foreign contamination – Prep-7.7 > Cleaner-3.8 > Rinse-3.0.

2] Apply Leather Bond-3D to the damage area and let dry.

3] Mixed Leather Bond-3D + Stucco-90 + Pigment-64 and fill the gap up and smoothen it.

4] When almost dry texturized it with improvised tools.

5] Further color touch-up to match with Pigment-64.

6] Topcoat to match existing luster with Topcoat-56

7] Rub resistant protects it with Leather Scent-B.

    Or

    Vinyl Repairs:

1] Vinyl color compound is mixed into the vinyl clear compound to match existing color.

2] The gap is filled with the ready above mixture.

3] Blow heat is applied to cause a change in sheen to cure the compound.

4] A cold metal block is immediately place over the heated compound with a in-between non-stick Teflon sheet.

5] This technique usually produces a smooth surface which may not be desirable to match the surrounding texture.

6] Further color touch-up to match with Pigment-64.

7] Topcoat to match existing luster with Topcoat-56

8] Rub resistant protects it with Leather Scent-B.
