    Default Nubuck - Bloodstain

    Roger,
Just received a bloodstain that happened 2 months ago on 12 year old Nubuck cushion. How do you think we should proceed?

Here's the Nubuck Leathers Problem Solving Guide-N9.

Step 1] Remove surface coagulated stains with Leather Eraser-4 gently; agressive agitation will distort the fine nap coaser the deeper it goes.

Step 2] Transfer d'Protein-11.0 to a cotton swab for agitation and extraction; change to a new cotton swab when saturated with suspended stains. Use Leather Spatula-6 to help break up coagulation. Do not try to clean beyond the stain areas, stray products has to be extracted immediately, the product pH value is 11.0, not much of a choice to break-up the coagulation. Repeat until it is all clear, rusty residue are further treated with d'Tarnish-1.3.

Step 3] Use d'Tarnish-1.3 and repeat the agitation and extraction as step 2] until cotton swab shows clean. Damp it and leave it naturally dry for further chemical reaction on rusty stains.

Step 4] Rinse off all remaining residues; leather structure has to be well saturate; squeezing between thumb and finger should shows oozing of moisture through the pores; that's the right level to wick further residual soiling particulates to the surface during the natural drying process.

Step 5] The entire surface is recommended to be clean over matching the level of soiling; minimum is Cleaner-3.8 > Rinse-3.0 to feather out an even appearance during wetting out and extrating with terry towel without blotchiness.

Step 6] Hydrator-3.3 is to saturate until a oozing effect is produced when squeeze between thumb and fingers. Optional dwelling is recommended to help further equalize the chemistry between the worked stain areas and the non stain areas; when the chemistry is well redistributed and equalized it will produce an even appearance when dry.

Step 7] Fatliquor-5.0 follows the same process as step 6].

Step 8] When dry leather Eraser-4 is worked over to removed wick-up soiling particulates to a finger writting effect.

Step 9] Mist spray Leather Scent-S; shake very well and avoid spits; as it will have a darkening effect. For doubly sure shake the product very well filter it and airbrush it.
