    Default How to restore shine on a leather bag

    Hello i have a large lambskin leather bag but offlate some cracks have developed on the bag and the shine is gone as well.. it looks old and ugly.. how do i remove the crumpled look and cracks on the bag and give it the smooth look again

    Crumpled looks may refer to the leather structure that is dried of its fatliquor that cause it to crease and wrinkle; that eventually crack when flexed.

    The solution is to hydrate the dried leather first so that the entire thickness of the leather is relaxed and plump-up; thereafter fatliquor is applied so that it will coats the fibers evenly where the hydrator goes to make the leather soft and strong with suppleness when dry; this is first to be done.

    Cracks requires a physical repair with leather Bond-3D with leather fibrils to the cracks.

    The shine is the topcoat; its either gloss or matte for aniline leathers.

    It would be better to see what you have in mind; as there are varieties of lambskin finishes; and to match the original is what's important in this project.
