I took an old and inexpensive black leather jacket to the dry cleaners. It was years old, and while I don't think the leather itself needed dry cleaning the quilted lining did. When I got it back the leather was very dry, and not being smart I treated it with some mink oil that I had around. A lot. I don't think that anyone will be surprised to hear that it now has a white film. Saddle soap hasn't taken it off. I've more than gotten my use out of it, but if taking it to the cleaners again would would salvage it then I might do it. Would it? Or should I just get rid of it?
