    Default Afghanistan Shearling Vintage Embroidered Coat

    I have a vintage shearling Afghanistan coat that has embroidered areas.
    I'm concerned that the treatment could cause colour to leach into the leather from the stitching.

    Would the hydrating process cause this?

    Leaching or bleeding of color from the embroidery will depend on the color fastness of the embroidery thread used. Synthetic treads will be completely save from color bleeding.
    Logically natural protein fiber should be used to bring value to this beautiful shearling.
    Setting or dye fixing of the color thread still depends on the color, as not all color are the same in terms of color fast, example red will be weaker than most other color.
    Therefor each color has to be individually tested with the products intent to be used.

    The round-1 of color testing is to wet out each cotton swab with Hydrator-3.3 and rubs on each of the color threads to view if color is transferred.

    Any weak color thread may be strengthen by Acidifier-2.0 and tested again when dry as round-2.

    The rounds of testing may be applied to Fatliquor-5.0 to the weakest color, but very unlikely it will bleed the color.

Rejuvenating the suede skin side is accomplished by Hydrator-3.3 first to relax and separate the stick together fiber prior to fatliquor replenishing it. Fatliquor-5.0 with its fat plumps the skin structure with fullness and the oil lubricate for structure softness without the unwanted darkening effect. Cleaning to the suede side is performed with CleanSuede-3.8 follows with RinseSuede-3.0 using a suede Eraser-5 in combination with suede Brush-3 and towel extracted.
