Louis Vuitton 12 years old bag developed a dark patina. . . and a black stain.
My LV bag is 12 years old and until recently was untouched or treated.
It had developed a dark patina, with darker patches from where it had been carried.
I then spilled a bottle of apple juice inside and in desperation (knowing it was pretty much wrecked anyway) I tossed it in the washing machine with some wool wash.
Surprisingly it came out relatively ok, but I know I need to probably give it some major tlc to replace oils etc in the leather.
I did give it some leather conditioner & beeswax leather balm - but I'm unhappy with how this has left the leather and would prefer to clean this off and do it 'right', having read your info.
Other than this, there is a black stain on the vachetta base, which may be ink, or liquid eyeliner.
No idea what it is or how it got there sadly.
