    >>> Can you help me with the process of removing the stain?

The safest procedure is to do a test by actual staining a piece of scrap and remove from there to experience how it works.
This extra test cleaning will give you an added confidant to remove the stain from the bag.
Just wet out the piece of scrap and let it dry to see how the stain had responded when dry.
Vachetta-28 is leather-safe specialty cleaner formulated to work by an oxidation-reduction (redox) reaction.
A holistic system for water stain removal works with other 3 products mentioned in the below Kit-V3.

Leather Doctor® Kit V3, unfinished leather care system is formulated for corrective appearance of vachetta, saddlery and veg-tan leathers from browning liquid stains. These alkaline pH sensitive leathers when neglected often suffer unsightly browning stain marks from a variety of liquid sources. Even apparent clean rain and tap water often leave a lightening spot with an outer ring. The pH 7 alone of water will often cause a rippling effect on the tannin that destabilize and causes it to moves. Browning correction is performed by using Vachetta-2.8, a pH 2.8 specialty leather cleaner that is particularly effective in emulsifying oily soiling, lightening suntan and water staining effect. A holistic system includes rejuvenating the leather structure for softness with Hydrator-3.3 to relax, follows with Fatliquor-5.0 to soften when dry and protecting with the healing properties of Protector-D thereafter. The lightening effect takes place when the leather dries. When leather is wet and dry again, it will often stiff up, as the fibers becomes stick closer together. Hydrator-3.3 helps separate and open up the inter-fibrillary spaces preconditioning for effective Fatliquor-5.0 replenishing to lubricate for leather flexing smoothness from cracking. Replenishing the leather structure with fatliquor after browning corrective cleaning besides the softening effect also prevents the ingress of liquid stains as a preventive measure. When leather is full of fatliquor (fat and oil), it makes the leather less absorbent. Fatliquor conditioning or rejuvenating with Fatliquor-5.0 mellows and enrich the appearance of the leather while most oil conditioners will simply darkens and dulls the appearance poorly. Protector-D enhances a rub resistant draggy-feel against friction rubs and is use routinely to conceal and fill scuffmarks. Body contact areas should be clean routinely with Clean-3.8 follows with Rinse-3.0, thereafter applied with non-stick protection and commence for another cycle of use. Darken and prolong body grease and sweat contacts will require a degreasing process with Degreaser-2.2 follows with Acidifier-2.0 in most cases. Preventive cleaning and protection to shield against sticky soiling, with the abilities to heal and conceal lightening scuff and abrasion marks keeps the leather appearance level high at all times rather than relying on corrective or salvage cleaning where the cleaning appearance deteriorates and diminishes with each cycle. Note that the mentioned products suffix numbers denotes its pH value in this holistic approach to removing vegetable, plant and water stains from vachetta, saddlery and veg-tan leathers.

    Tips 1 – Cracks Control:
Aged, dried or signs of leather cracking should be first leather rejuvenated with Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0 > Hydrator-3.3 system and let dry prior to Vachetta-2.8 treatment. This precaution is to prevent any further cracking execrated to the leather. In other words, any leather dryness less then 7% of original fatliquor moisture content measured with a leather moisture meter or an equivalent wood moisture meter should first be rejuvenated to top up or replenish to its original fatliquor up to 14% prior to treatment with Vachetta-2.8. Due to “Van der Waal or London Forces” phenomenon in the drying process, the empty or insufficient of fatliquor in the leather fiber structure is likely to result in stiffer leather as the fibers becomes stick together. A slower natural drying will reduce the stiffness ill effect from the lack of fatliquor.

    Tips 2 – Appearance Control:
Water stain spotting may be done with a cotton swab until it shows clean. It is recommended that the entire panel be treated equally to an even appearance to eliminates any rings when dry thereafter. Treated panel may take up a lightening effect as it also reduces the sun tanning effect if any and recommend that the entire article be treated accordingly.

    Tips 3 – Suppleness Control:
Unlike other leather tanning type, vegetable-tanned leathers are more susceptible to cracks as it is characteristically more fatliquor thirsty. Dry leathers are handle with care for inspection and continue with rejuvenating it with Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0 > Hydrator-3.3 system.

Tips 4 – Sealing and Concealing Scuffing Control:
The final of the holistic Vachetta care system ends with Protector-D or the leather scented version of Protector-D+ to seal and conceal scuffing leaving the leather with its natural transpiration.

    Instruction

    A - Browning Stain Removal with Vachetta-2.8:
    1. Dry soil removal with Eraser-4 or terry towel depending on soiling severity prior to product application.
    2. Shake well, spray and saturate with horsehair Brush-1 or FoamBrush-3” for an even appearance and towel extract until it shows clean.
    3. Option is to use a saturate cotton swab or a terry towel and clean until it shows clean.
    4. Extend cleaning to the entire panel when towel shows clean for an even appearance working out the lines or rings.
    5. Let natural drying and inspect result but avoid any fexing.
    6. In most cases the treated panels will look lighter than other untreated panels, as the product not only correct the discoloration it also reduces any sun-tanning effect. The entire article is therefore recommended to be treated accordingly for an overall appearance.

    B - Surface Tension Inspection with Hydrator-3.3:
Hydrator-3.3 is applied evenly, agitate and spread with horsehair Brush-1 or FoamBrush-3” and towel extract for an even appearance inspection to prevent any surface blotchiness from Fatliquor-5.0 failure to spread or penetrate evenly.

    C – Leather Fatliquor Replenishing with Fatliquor-5.0:
Fatliquor-5.0 is a continuous process that proceeds immediately after satisfactory an even-appearance inspection. The process is repeated when the leather is almost dry until the leather is saturated before let to a slow natural dry. It will take on a seasoning appearance effect depends on the amount of fatliquor received.

D – Cleaning up Fatliquor-5.0 of any Surface Excess:
Hydrator-3.3 is applied and the leather is brushed and towel extract of any milky residue and let to dry.

E – Sealing and Concealing light Abrasion and Scuffing:
Protector-D is applied for sealing and concealing light abrasion and scuffing, besides shielding the leather of the detrimental effect of soiling and easier removal during the routine cleaning process.

    Kit Content and Product Description:

    Leather Doctor® Vachetta-2.8 (120ml)
Vachetta-2.8 is a specialty leather cleaner formulated especially for unfinished veg-tan leathers popularly known as Vachetta. This is a waterbased pH 2.8 cleaner that is particularly effective in emulsifying oily and greasy soiling, lightening suntan, tarnish and water staining effect by oxidation-reduction (redox) reaction. It is use in conjunction with Hydrator-3.3, Fatliquor-5.0 and Protector-D in a holistic care system.

    Leather Doctor® Hydrator-3.3 (250ml)
Hydrator-3.3 is a waterbased pH 3.3 leather-safe hydrator. It is a fatliquor preconditioner with multi functional abilities. Surface application is primary to check for even surface tension free of blotchiness prior to fatliquor replenishing. Structural application will require saturating to an optimum level with moisture oozing out when gently pressed between thumb and fingers. The multi functional abilities include: a) to check for surface tension for an even appearance free from blotchiness prior to fatliquor replenishing. b) To plumps, relaxes and separates crushed, shrunk and stick together fibrils for manipulating away-unwanted creases and wrinkles. c) To rectify alkaline overexposure areas by facilitating colloidal water movement to redistribute the leather constituents from surrounding areas. d) To activate the dormant dyestuff within the leather structure for color refreshing. e) To facilitates colloidal water movement within the inter-fibrillary spaces for wicking foreign soiling particulates to resurface. f) To stabilize, pH balance and charge the protein fiber below its iso-electric point (pI) ionic positive to hydrogen bond with the ionic negative fatliquor more effectively. This universal Hydrator-3.3 is for all leather types including pigmented, aniline, vachetta, nubuck, suede, hair-on-hide and woolskin.

    Leather Doctor® Fatliquor-5.0 (250ml)
Fatliquor-5.0 is a micro emulsion of fat, oil and water is an anionic charged pH 5.0 fatliquor for rejuvenating all leather types. It relaxes coarse breaks; creases and wrinkles enhance suppleness and prevent cracking. It softens the leather with stretchability, compressibility and flexibility, while enhancing its rip tensile strength greatly. It is for replenishing the original fat and oil that diminishes thru sun bleaching, ageing, heat and alkaline overexposure or cleaning. On application, the water-encased molecule breaks free when hydrogen bond attraction takes place between the fat and oil with the protein fiber. The excess free water content wicks out leaving a breathing space behind for leather natural transpiration. The fat plumps the leather with fullness from easily collapsing into creases and wrinkles during stress or flex, while the oil lubricates the fibers so that they slide over one another smoothly like millions of inter-connecting hinges. Thus helps to keep leather at its optimum physical performance and prevent premature ageing. This universal Fatliquor-5.0 is for all leather types including pigmented, aniline, vachetta, nubuck, suede, hair-on-hide and woolskin.

    Leather Doctor® Protector-D (120ml)
Protector-D (Draggy Feel-79) is design for Aniline and Nubuck Wax Pull-up, Bicast, Vachetta, Steering Wheel and Leather Flooring. This is a non-film forming, non-stick scentless protector that enhances a natural draggy-feel. It imparts a non-stick breathable barrier essentially to shield the detrimental effects of sticky soiling. Its natural draggy-feel protection increases the leather resistance to wet and dry rubs, thus reduce stretch, scuff and abrasion. It is also use as a scuff repairer, filling and concealing surface scuffs to improve appearance. The drag produces an unforgettable familiar sound sweet to the ears when leather rubs.

can this procedure be done by myself, i have no experience at all by cleaning this kind of leather
i am afraid to make it worse and ruine the bag.
will the treatment affect the color end result, make it darker and more shiny, as the leather is very mat right now , will it be shiny after ?
there is some withisch appearance on the leather, like a residue of plaster which will be gone after treatment and this is giving the matisch, non shiny look.
is there a possibility to send you the bag, what would the price for removal of the stain , the bag is practically not used, so no dirt on it.
    thanks for reply

    Default maybe other option

maybe another option is to treat the bag with some product to make it water resistant, it will darken and get more shiny, and even out the brown water stain ?
just by doing this alone, to avoid any other complcations with products i am not used to work with and therfor making things worse ?
just a tought, it is the back of the handbag, so less visible then the front

    thanks again for your reply

    >>> maybe another option is to treat the bag with some product to make it water resistant

You have a choice of 4 topcoats you see in this link:
    http://www.leatherdoctor.com/anilinetop-21/

The existing stain has to be removed otherwise the stain will show through.

Yes, this product system is self-explained – confident is gain by working on scraps.
Objective is to restore it holistically back to the original.

    >>> will the treatment affect the color end result, make it darker and more shiny, as the leather is very mat right now ,

Vachetta-2.8 reduction-oxidation (Redox) treatment will not make the leather darker but lighter depends on existing sun tanning effect.

    >>> will it be shiny after ?

    No!

    >>> there is some withisch appearance on the leather, like a residue of plaster which will be gone after treatment and this is giving the matisch, non shiny look.

Not sure what you are referring to.

    >>> is there a possibility to send you the bag, what would the price for removal of the stain , the bag is practically not used, so no dirt on it.

US75$ an hour a holistic approach is a 4 process according to the Kit-V3 recommendation restoring back to the original.

More importantly is the desired result and as an example would this result in appearance be acceptable or the holistic would include leather rejuvenating and protection.
