    Leather Identification:
From picture #3 the newer part of the leather with its monotone appearance suggest that the leather finishes is “semi-aniline” or “micro-pigmented”. Aniline does not come in this shade of white. It also has a satin luster unlike the “white unfinished leathers”.

    Inspection:
Picture #2 reveals deteriorating finishes which cleaning by itself will not be able to bring back the color. The darkening coloring is worn thin that shows the grain of the leather. The finishes is also crack in these worn areas. The edging is also cracks.

    Objectives:
To restore appearance the leather after preparation cleaning, leather rejuvenating will have to undergo a color refinishing, otherwise most of the deteriorated finishes when totally removed may look worst than it is now.

The expected desired result has to be known first prior to attempt cleaning it.

    >>>How do I do a color cleaning? Can you help with this?

Before removing the deteriorated existing finishes we need to get ready the micro-pigment color that matches existing color and the tools for application.

    Micro-Pigmented System includes:
    #1. Adhesor-73
#2. Micro-54 (custom color derives from white, black and ochre – with almost 95% of white and the remainder a mix of black and ochre).
#3. MicroTop-54S (satin luster may be the close match).
#4. Protector-B+ to reduce friction wears to the new finishes.

    Application Tools:
#1. Airbrushing to produce a professional result.
#2. Or equivalent brushes to apply the color and top coating.
#3. Kitchen weighing scale for ratio mixing the custom formulation.

    Cleaning Tools:
    #1. Horsehair Brush-1
    #2. Leather Eraser-4
    #3. 1500/2000grit sanding

    Preparation Products:
    #1. Stripper-2.3
    #2. Degreaser-2.2
    #3. Rinse-3.0

    Leather Rejuvenating Products:
    #1. Hydrator-3.3
    #2. Fatliquor-5.0

    Repair Products for the Edging:
    #1. Leather Bond-3D

Most of the products mentioned are found in this Kit and others mentioned may be added (White in 250ml, Black in 60ml while the kit comes in 60ml Ochre).

We will get into the details sequence of procedure when products and tools are at hand.
We will also spend some time on how to color match and getting the products ready; a kitchen weight scale may be necessary for getting the correct ratio mix as well. Getting the custom ratio is by pipette droplets and the ready to spray or apply products is be weighting out the custom ratio mix with a help of a kitchen scale.

Leather Doctor Kit Sa7.cl – Semi-Aniline Leather Color Refinishing Kit
Leather Doctor® Kit Sa7.cl, micro-pigmented leather color refinishing kit is design for a holistic restoration approach to not only the finishes but also rejuvenating the leather for suppleness. Most of these repairs may range from missing finishes to abrading damages into the leather structure. Some expose areas may be contaminated with foreign soiling that includes conditioners, protectors, body oil, grease and sweat or alkaline overexposure from cleaners. A comprehensive repair for a long-term lasting solution will require a holistic approach to deal with both the exposed structure and surface finishes. The practical and functional softness and strength of the leather depends on the health of the structure with average thickness between 0.9 to 1.2mm from stiffness and cracking. The aesthetic aspect of the leather finishes averages 0.02mm (or 20 micron) in thickness for practical compressing and flexing from cracking. A leather-safe restoration system begins by stripping with Stripper-2.3 and rinsing with Rinse-3.0. Degreasing with Degreaser-2.2 follows with Acidifier-2.0. The suffix numbers of these four products denotes it pH value for recharging the protein fiber ionic positive besides the act of decontamination. The leather integrity is revitalizes once the ionic attraction between the positive protein fiber and its negative leather constituents like the tanning agent and fatliquor (fat, oil and water) is initiated. Leather rejuvenating system for softness and strength is accomplishes with Hydrator-3.3 follows with Fatliquor-5.0. Surface uneven absorption is seals with Adhesor-73 to reduce the need for color over-coating thus increase its flexibility and stretchability from premature cracking. Protector-B+ imparts a non-stick rub-resistant surface with a buttery feel, reduces noises that translate into less friction wear. As the leather surface is well lubricated it reduces compression when comes to heavy body contact thus reduces compressed creases and wrinkles.
