Spots on both bags are most likely mold related stains.

Can you detect moldy smell if you put them into a plastic bag?

Will need d’Mold-3.6 to control or kill these microbial growth.

Vachetta-2.8 is design from water related browning, not tested on such discoloration yet (you may try and let us know the result).

The tarnish stains around the brass button is removed by using d’Tarnish-1.3

By the way the Celine bag leather is “white unfinished leather” that has less of the browning discoloration associated with “Vachetta” leathers.

The last resort to mold related appearance is a covering up with micro-pigment after mold decontamination.

Mold growth is a common occurrence in tropical climate like Singapore.

Services you can include is a “Mold Preventive Care” where leathers are cleaned and anti-microbial treated before they put into storage. The d’Mold-3.6 treatment should able to cover a period of 8 months of preventive mold growth during high warm and humidity season.

Remember that unfinished leather derived its color from the tanning agent itself and there is no color add-on to it thereafter. Any color put on to them may make the leather looks fake or unreal. Not correct or appropriate but yet it may seems to be the last option out for cosmetic purposes, need to seek out customer’s approval.

Technically it is a refinishing, not possible to touch-up to match the unfinished leathers and again there are the stitching threads for consideration as well.

d’Tarnish-1.3 is also a possibilities for lightening up the color to try.

    >>> Can the Kit V5.mk solve my recent post handbag problem?

d’Mold-3.6 from the Kit V5.mk system is a leather safe fungicide design to kill the growth of mold infestation. Fungicides are chemical compounds or biological organisms used to kill or inhibit fungi or fungal spores. Many of these spores and multi-cellular filaments growth are colored, making the fungus much more obvious to the human eye at this stage in its life cycle.

Mold decontamination may take these sequence of steps:

    Restorative Cleaning:
    General Soiling - Prep-4.4 > Clean-3.8 > Rinse-3.0.
Body Oil, Grease and Sweat Soiling - Degreaser-2.2 > Rinse-3.0.

    Stain Removal:
    Vachetta-2.8
    d’Tannin-3.8
    d’Tarnish-1.3

    Fungicide:
    d’Mold-3.6

    Leather Rejuvenation:
    Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0

    Protection:
    Protector-D

    Tips:

#1 Remember to post each leather problem for each thread. Although they (the Celine and Louis Vuitton) have the same mold infestation problem, the technique use may differ, as we can see that they are of different finishes with different surface texture. Surface rubbing for one smooth-surface may be bad for another textured surface.

#2 Put a number to the picture will help for easy reference.

    Picture Observation:
The reddish brown reveals finishes removal due to excessive scrubbing. Use the horsehair Brush-1 for gentle agitation instead.

Professional Cleaning to Prevent Potential Finishes Damages:
#A - Use the appropriate products to match soiling severity or specialty products for decontamination.
#B – Make use of Dwell-Time to the fullest – dwelling-time can be as short as 10 minutes to as long as 72 hours.
#C – Agitation for textures surface – recommended to use horsehair Brush-1.

What is the next step that I can make the appearance of the colour look better.

Color appearance would require matching Micro-54 system between the leather rejuvenation and protection sequence.

Follow these steps from the previous post.

Mold decontamination may take these sequence of steps:

    Restorative Cleaning:
    General Soiling - Prep-4.4 > Clean-3.8 > Rinse-3.0.
Body Oil, Grease and Sweat Soiling - Degreaser-2.2 > Rinse-3.0.

    Stain Removal:
    Vachetta-2.8
    d’Tannin-3.8
    d’Tarnish-1.3

    Fungicide:
    d’Mold-3.6

    Leather Rejuvenation:
    Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0

    Refinishing:
    Adhesor-73 > Micro-54 > MicroTop-54

    Protection:
    Protector-B+

Leather Doctor® Kit Sa7.cl, micro-pigmented leather color refinishing kit is design for a holistic restoration approach to not only the finishes but also rejuvenating the leather for suppleness. Most of these repairs may range from missing finishes to abrading damages into the leather structure. Some expose areas may be contaminated with foreign soiling that includes conditioners, protectors, body oil, grease and sweat or alkaline overexposure from cleaners. A comprehensive repair for a long-term lasting solution will require a holistic approach to deal with both the exposed structure and surface finishes. The practical and functional softness and strength of the leather depends on the health of the structure with average thickness between 0.9 to 1.2mm from stiffness and cracking. The aesthetic aspect of the leather finishes averages 0.02mm (or 20 micron) in thickness for practical compressing and flexing from cracking. A leather-safe restoration system begins by stripping with Stripper-2.3 and rinsing with Rinse-3.0. Degreasing with Degreaser-2.2 follows with Acidifier-2.0. The suffix numbers of these four products denotes it pH value for recharging the protein fiber ionic positive besides the act of decontamination. The leather integrity is revitalizes once the ionic attraction between the positive protein fiber and its negative leather constituents like the tanning agent and fatliquor (fat, oil and water) is initiated. Leather rejuvenating system for softness and strength is accomplishes with Hydrator-3.3 follows with Fatliquor-5.0. Surface uneven absorption is seals with Adhesor-73 to reduce the need for color over-coating thus increase its flexibility and stretchability from premature cracking. Protector-B+ imparts a non-stick rub-resistant surface with a buttery feel, reduces noises that translate into less friction wear. As the leather surface is well lubricated it reduces compression when comes to heavy body contact thus reduces compressed creases and wrinkles.
