Hi Roger,
I want to try with this bag first and see how is the result.
As you can see in here, the pocket has a big scratch and it is quiet deep.
Should I put on a beige colour dye to cover it a little bit first then a matt coating?
What is your suggestion?

yes, it is a deep cut. I know it will not possible to make it unnoticeable. I just want to make it as better as possible.
There is no missing fabric in between, it just expended due to the cut.

The priority is to identify the best approach to repairing the deep cut. It is most likely that the leather has shrunk rather than expanded and has to be return back to original or slightly overlapping the open cut prior to bonding repairing it. This is done with Hydrator-3.3 and bonding with Bond-3D follows with 7A to seal without gap or line opening.
Any such bonding repairs may take on a darkening effect like a skin-healing scar. In order to conceal such artificial scar, there is two options either to refinishing it in the popular and common “transparent” higher-end black with Aniline-76 system or using a lower-end “opaque” color matching Micro-54 system retaining the original color.
The edging of the side pocket reveals damages finishes and it is time for a total color restoration, including the use of Adhesor-73 for surface repairs to smooth the surface.
Picture #1 quilting has shown depression due to shrinkage of its original fatliquor. This evident shrinkage that sunk the concave quilting has also affect the opening of the deep cut. Leather rejuvenating is done prior to repairs with Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0 Hydrator-3.3 system.
When a refinishing is the ultimate solution to a total restoration, the leather is first wet prep using Degreaser-2.2 > Rinse-3.0 > Acidifier-2.0 system.

Leather DoctorŽ Kit A7.cl, aniline leather dye refinishing kit is designed for dyestuff and topcoat refinishing from the simple sunlight fading to the severely sweat damages from body oil and grease. Most severely penetrated, prolonged and neglected stains show a darkening effect with a sticky feel have its topcoat and dyestuff probably deteriorated by the sweat. When the stain feels sticky, it is a sign of leather denaturing and reverting to rawhide from breaking of bonds with the tanning agent. When sign of color is transfer to a white towel, it indicates that the dyestuff has also break bonds with the protein fiber. When leather is stiff or shows signs of whitish residue migrating, it shows that the fatliquor is breaking bonds as well with the protein fiber. The main component of the leather protein fiber is amphoteric while the other constituents are not; shifting of the pH mainly caused from sweat to alkalinity affects the pH imbalance. To revert from denaturing into rawhide prior to topcoat refinishing, contaminated alkaline soiling is removed with Degreaser-2.2, a waterbased (pH 2.2) multifunctional degreaser that emulsifies greasy contamination besides controlling dye bleeding and charging the protein fiber ionic positive for strengthening the attraction between the ionic negative tanning agent, dyestuff and fatliquor. Deflocculated and suspended soiling is towel extracted, thereafter rinse and pH balanced with Acidifier-2.0 to prevent the leather from reverting to rawhide. When leather feels sticky or slimy it is a sign of leather denaturing, a squeaky feel when wet is a sign of a healthy leather. Hydrator-3.3 relaxes stiff leathers and removes surface tension free from surface blotchiness prior to fat and oil replenishing. Fat and oil is replenished with Fatliquor-5.0 to rejuvenate the leather for the desired suppleness when dry. Custom redyeing commences prior to topcoat refinishing. Protector-B+ imparts a non-stick rub-resistant protection with a buttery-feel that shield against sticky soiling and reduce friction noises. Note that the mentioned product suffix number denotes its pH value in this holistic leather-safe aniline leathers dyestuff and topcoat refinishing system. I don't doubt the quality of products under discussion here but I seriously doubt anyone other than a professional leather expert and craftsman would have the expertise to undertake repairing such a serious damage.
