Hello all,
I've poked around but didn't find an answer. We just bought a 2006 Subaru Outback that has ivory colored leather upholstery. The center of the seats is perforated and is quite stiff. The bolsters are not near as hard. I'd like to try to soften it. I've used Leatherique in the past several times and never got results but hoping because these are perforated, perhaps absorption is possible. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone.
Stiffness is the inability for the leather fiber to slide over one another smoothly. When the fatliquor (fat and oil) diminished from evaporation or leached out, the dry out fibers becomes stick together. Just like hinges when oils or lubricants dries out becomes stiff.
The steps to supple up the leather structure is:
1- Clean of foreign soiling and ionic charged the leather protein fiber with CleanPro-1.5 > Acidifier-2.0.
2- Relax the leather structure and fatliquor replenish with Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0.
