How to fill in or hide deep nicks and cuts in leather shoes?

I have a pair of Red Wings 4408 Oxford shoes. They are safety shoes with a steel toe.

I'm pretty rough with them where I work, and over the past year I've nicked and cut both of them pretty bad in the toe region.

I've tried filling these in with shoe polish and polishing it all over, but it never seems to stay in the nicks and a horsehair brush always removes it. Moreover, the scuffed/scratched/roughened leather never seems to shine.

Please ignore the horsehair in this photo... I didn't notice it at all when I took it.

A permanent shine is done with Topcoat-72Gloss and this is done with airbrushing.

Color is done with opaque black Pigment-54 and it is best done with airbrushing.

Prior to the refinishing, all previous wax have to be stripped off with Stripper-2.3

Repairs to the scuff and nicks is fill with a blend of Stucco-90 + Leather Bond-3D + Pigment-54.

Sanding is done with 1000 to 2000grit

The result, you will have a high patent shine.

So if you have the products and the tools, you can achieve your desire result.

I have recently done 2 pairs of such problems.
