Zebra Skin Raw Hide 20 years old - dry/curly/ripped
I have a approx 20 years old zebra skin RAW Hide from South Africa. It has been in storage for 10 years but I like it out on the floor as a rug. It is dry and curly on some edges as well as a few rips. It is tanned but it is raw hide not leather.
What can be done to re-hydrate, flatten, repair?
Thanks
Clean Hair/Rinse Hair before Rehydration?
Hi,
Thanks for the instructions, I have ordered the KIT and additional products.
I have used the clean 3.8 and rinse 3.0
Should I use the Clean Hair and the Rinse Hair before Rehydrate and Fatliquor or after? What about Protector S+
Thanks,
Walt

Hydrator-3.3 will first settle the curling of the edges as well as flatten the hide on a flat surface.
Plastic sheet helps to control evaporation so that the hide remains damp to dwell until it settles to satisfaction.
To control mold infestation, already present in the hide, KillMold-3.6 is first spray onto the hide prior to Hydrator-3.3.
When satisfied with the flatness of the hide - Fatliquor-5.0 is introduced to impart suppleness when dry.
>>> as well as a few rips.
Rips are sign that the hide is getting too dry and fatliquor will strengthen the hide from easily rip.
>>> What can be done to re-hydrate,
Rehydrate by Hydrator-3.3 to relax the hide flat, However when it becomes dry again it will be stiff-up without Fatliquor-5.0
>>> repair?
Repair is done with Bond-3D and Patch-4S, an option for invisible repairs is donor fibers instead.
Recommend you this Kit-H7+ (you will need extra refills for Hydrator-3.3 & Fatliquor-5.0)
