I work in the aviation business and am responsible for the cleaning of the interiors of several corporate jets. The leather seats in these airplanes are showing some wear on the seat edges especially near the top of the seats. Our head pilot is making the claim that our cleaning of the leather is what is causing the wear. We use new microfiber clothes with water lightly sprayed on them to clean the leather. I have examined all of the airplanes that we are responsible for. I find the wear patterns on the first row of seats where people tend to place their hands when entering the plane. Is it possible for us to be causing this wear by our cleaning methods?

Yes!

Do you think that your cleaning methods is “leather-safe”?

Or are you practicing a leather-safe Leather Appearance Management System?
