My customer has a new white sofa, put two small throw cushions in each corner for contrast, and the dye has transferred to the leather. It's subtle but it's there. Tried Prep 7.7, Clean 3.8, Rinse 3.3 and it didn't improve much if at all. Is there anything else to try on location before bringing it in for re-dye/re-top coat?

Do not expect an instant dye transfer removal from Prep-7.7!

How long was the dwell-time?

Bear in mind that dye transfer stain does not happen instantly too, it takes time to penetrate into the leather finish - may need equal amount of time for the reverse.

Other faster removal includes Degreaser-2.2 and Stripper-2.3 - when these 2 products are used you have to prepare for a refinishing at least the topcoat, then it depends how deep the dye have penetrated colorcoat may be necessary and these fast removal may become more messy to rectify the leather finish.

Prep-7.7 by far is the safest and has been proven to dwell up to 3 days to have an effective removal yet safe to the finish.

I will still choose the slow and steady product that has proven track record, rather than a faster removal that may whack the finish.

Another option is to use Bleach-10.3 and again it still takes time to bleach out the dye stain.

Note:
Even though you may wish to recolor and re topcoat, the penetrated dye stains need to be removed; otherwise it will wick up to the new surface.

it only had a few minutes dwell time. so if applied again, wrap it up in plastic for a few days to cook it, it should work? the sofa is brand new, it would be great if that would take care f the problem.
maybe it would be best to set him up with some product, a white leather with dye transfer problem solving kit, and he can do it himself rather than me going back and forth.

And here’s the instruction for Dye Transfer Stain…

Dye and Ink Stain Removal System
Remove stubborn stains through the penetrating, lubricating, and suspending power of Prep-7.7 to solve common problem stains found on pigmented leather seats like dye transfer from clothing including blue jeans and leather belts; not forgetting the newsprint and the tougher ballpoint ink.
Instructions
1. If the stain is a failed attempt from other products, it’s recommended to use tap water for a wet finger test for tackiness or sliminess. If it is, acidifying it with Acidifier-2.0 found in Kit SA3.T to return the leather to a squeaky feel is highly recommended prior to Prep-7.7 application.
2. Apply Prep-7.7 to the stain and let dwell for ˝ to 1 hour until stain begins to run.
3. Blot the suspended stain and check if the leather color is removed at the same time, especially where the topcoat has already worn out prior to application; protective matching satin or matte luster Topcoat-72 is recommended to further protect the colorcoat after Rinse-3.0, even though color may remain intact. Stain removal needs to be continued and completely removed; otherwise it will eventually wick up through the new finishes too.
4. Repeat application for older penetrated stains and allow for a longer 4 to 8 hours dwelling time to exhaust the stain, then repeat blotting and checking the stability of the leather finish until satisfactory.
5. Advance technique uses paper towel to act as an extension of the leather to cause a wicking effect through the tissue under clear plastic wrapping for daily inspection, until stain is fully exhausted.
6. Sticky residue is removed by Cleaner-3.8 with gentle brush agitation into creases and towel blot until towel shows clean.
7. This removal system completes with Rinse-3.0 spray and towel blot to a squeaky clean.
