The cracks as seen in these pictures all appears white; that includes the stitching holes in picture #4; is most likely the aniline dyed structure been exposed to sunlight that bleached it.

This observation tells us that besides the finish is deteriorated, the structure may be very dry and stiff too. A comprehensive restoration is highly recommended to rejuvenate both the leather structure as well as refinishing the coatings.

The recommended sequence of procedures is as follows:

1] Preparation Cleaning:
Use Prep-7.7 > Cleaner-3.8 > Rinse-3.0 and remove deteriorated finishing at the same time with a combination of leather Razor-60 and or sanding combination ranges from 800 to 1500grit to suite texture requirement to a texture smooth feel avoiding damaging to the grains.

2] Leather Structure Rejuvenating:
Use Hydrator-3.3 > Fatliquor-5.0 to restore diminished fatliquor.

3] Adhesion Coating:
Use Adhesor-73 to ensure good adhesion of the new coating.

4] Color Coating:
Use Pigment Micro-54 with Thicknener-48 as the flow controller if airbrushing is preferred for a professional finish.

5] Top Coating:
Use Micro Topcoat-72S (satin) to protect the color coat.

6] Non-Stick Rub-Resistant Protector:
Use Leather Scent-B

It’s to reduce the surface tension if any, in the inter-fibrillary leather structure for effective distribution of the fatliquor. It’s to help charging the leather protein fibers below its iso-electric point ionic positive, to hydrogen-bond with the negative ionic charged fatliquor. It’s safe for other leather trims that may include aniline, vachetta, nubuck, suede, hair-on-hide and woolskin.

Besides softening the leather with stretchability, compressibility and flexibility; fatliquor enhances its rip tensile strength greatly. Relaxes coarse breaks, creases and wrinkles to provide drapes, suppleness and prevents cracking. It helps to keep leather at its optimum physical performance and prevent premature ageing. It’s safe for all other leather trims including; aniline, vachetta, nubuck, suede, hair-on-hide and woolskin.
