Pictures show that this is Aniline leather; but could be a wax pull-up type. It makes no difference when comes to removing heat oil, grease and sweat. Follow accordingly to this Aniline Problem Solving Guide.

The purpose of using a pH 2.2 degreaser is two folds; first is to penetrate into the leather structure to degrease it, second is to neutralize the sweat that have shift protein fibers alkaline; that leads to crack as shown in pictures #3. It is understood that the degreaser has to penetrate deeper than what the contamination has reach in order to do its effective decontamination work within the leather structure. It is also understood that the deeper the pH 3.0 can reach, the more effective the result will be. Merely doing the action without paying attention to how it works often produce mediocre results. The hydrating with Hydrator-3.3 to the entire cushion sufficiently (moisture must ooze out between thumb and fingers when compressed) to effectively redistribute the chemistry (leather constituent) within the leather structure and purging out foreign contamination at the same time, when wet by towel extraction and dry by erasing lodge wick-up soiling particulates.

After or during the hydrating process, it is recommended to check the health of the contaminated area; if it is sticky or slimy, it has to be further acidified to bring the leather structure to a healthy squeaky feel.

Check for further damages to the color and especially the topcoat that will require refinishing.

This is after D'Greaser 2.2, clean, rinse, hydrator & fatliquor. What should my next step be?

Need to be repeated until the cleaned appearance is free from any traces of wick-up soiling particulates.

The dark soiling shows that the suspended particulates is fugitive; as compare to picture #1 they were not as obvious.

So the main process is to concentrate on the hydrating towel extraction while wet (until towel shows clean) and erasing when dry.

Need to be confirm for another testing if soiling reappear.

They have to be gone; otherwise when transparent liquid refinish is applied it will show through, lock-up making removal very tough.

Once all soil is removed, what must be done to complete the cushion?

The possibilities of resoiling have to be tested once more time with another application of Hydrator-3.3.

It had to be 99.99% overall clean appearance when dry.

Go over with Eraser-4 and you are ready to apply Topcoat Aniline-79Gloss.

Build up from the edge of the stain area towards the center of the stain area progressively.

Fine 1500 sanding grit is applicable to smoothen the in between surface.

Now is the reality, since the topcoat is transparent, it will enhance both the beauty and the flaws of the appearance.

It would be many times more difficult to correct the stain from now onwards if the stain areas is not flawlessly cleaned prior to topcoating it.

Tips:
Moving from the edge will tell if the topcoat can bring the color back, otherwise a little matching Aniline Dye-21 may help.
