Hi Roger,

Glad you were on the web today. I told this customer of mine I knew of a leather expert on line I would try to contact and here your were.
Got a call on a couch that the dog rubbed on just after having her Flea and tick treatment. It was Canine Advantex. Properties in the product were Permethrine & imieacloprid.

I am sending pics for you to look. When I investigated, it appears the color was removed due to the chemical from the Advantex. Do you have a solution to this besides doing an air brush on it. I am not a leather expert and there are no leather people within about 4 hours from here (and I wouldn't know who there to call)

Thanks for looking at these pics.

M.S.

The solution is to repair the color damages by a touch-up refinishing both to the colors and the topcoat.

With or without airbrushing is an option; however detail airbrushing will produce a better result.

Since it a two tone effect, color refinishing will take a higher level of coloring skills to match and blend in seamlessly.

And topcoat refinishing primarily has to be extended to all four cushions to even out the sheen appearance; that might be further extended to the frames depending on how close the new topcoat match-up with the existing topcoats.

This leathers looks like aniline or semi-aniline; definitely not pigmented types.

And getting the right matching coloring types is the key to successful color restoration.

Therefore a sample for color matching and touch-up testing is the first step to take.

As the leather finish types requires detail analysis; and the damages are to the cushions only; then it is viable to send the cushions out to have it done all together.

You can email me your decisions to send it out.
