These are pictures emailed to me from a man whose young son vomited on the sofa. His complaint is that it smells.

This leather looks semi-aniline to me.
It has a mono-tone look, and the stains look went below surface.
I believe this little boy still drinks milk and probably it’s from the fermenting sour milk odors.
They could have probably wiped it off already.
The lingering odor probably comes from the penetrated stains that remain in the leather structure.
The objective is to perform a deep restoration deodorizing cleaning into the leather structure to dislodge the foreign residues.

My recommended procedural steps are as follows:

Step 1 Spray a Leather Extra Heavy Duty Preconditioner (ultraCleaner4.5™) in conjunction with a Leather Body-Odor Deodorizer (deOdor4.4™) agitate and leave to dwell for 5 to 15 minutes.

Step 2 Spray Leather Cleaner (cleaner3.8™) agitates with horsehair brush extract or gently scuds (carfeful) with a smooth large metal spoon from deep within the leather structure without scratching the finish off.

Step 3 Spray a Leather Bio-Enzymatic Digester n’ Deodorizer (bioEnz4.7™) agitate and let it dwell 15 to 30 minutes, then extract.

Step 4 Spray a Leather Protein Stain Remover (protein11.0™) agitate and extract.

Step 5 Repeat Step 2.

Step 6 Rinse with a Leather Acidifier Rinse (rinse3.0™) agitate and extract till rag shows clean.

Step 7 Spray a Leather Bactericide and fungicide (mold3.6™) guarantee effectiveness for the next 8 months.

Step 8 Spray a Fatliquor (fatliquor5.0™) ensure softness and strength when leather dries otherwise it may be stiff.

Step 9 Spray a leather scent non-stick buttery feel conditioner, the classic leather scent will still be there after 4 to 6 weeks as compared to alcohol cologne that last 4 to 6 hours (field tested).

Well it is a long list and it is very thorough and all the reasons for success.

Show and educate your customers and charge accordingly.

When customer buys the full system it is almost a guarantee success in odor ratification.

Otherwise partial work he pays for your presence and action only without the (?) guarantee.

My suggestion is the whole sofa need a complete work through, as partial cleaning just the cushion alone would not be advisable.

Further clarifications are welcome.
