Dear Brian and Viewers,
Necessities “dwell time” 5 to 10 minutes for superCleaner4.0™ and longer for ink7.7™spotter (depending on age and types of spots and stains like: ink, silicone, paint, lipstick, crayon, nail-polish, etc.).
Fatliquor5.0™ at room temperature approximates 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit is sufficient (not frozen cold, especially during winter condition).
Generally a conventional tannery fatliquoring process is done in rotating drums where the temperature for vegetable-tanned leathers is about 45 degrees Celsius or 113 degrees Fahrenheit and about 63 degrees Celsius or 145 degrees Fahrenheit for chrome leathers.
These temperatures are necessary to keep the fatliquor in a milky emulsion for effective penetration into the leather fibrilliary structure.
Comparatively, fatliquor5.0™ is the “cold non-immersion spray version” of the “tannery drum warm immersion system”.
It does not require heat to create this milky emulsion similar to fresh milk unlike the tannery warm immersion system.
It is useless to spray on non-absorbent leathers especially auto/car seat if they are new without cracks or perforation holes for penetration.
The most effective method is to apply from the suede side if possible.
All leathers have to be fatliquored for greater softness, flexibility and strength.
These original fatliquor will diminish through cleaning and ageing and need replenishing to maintain original softness and strength.
Creases and coarse breaks are signs of diminishing fatliquor, cracks are obviously too late where the leather fibrils breaks like natural dried ropes or thread.
Sun dried cardboard stiffness have chances of softening by rehydration with cleaner3.8™ and rinse3.0™ before spray fatliquoring.
The important point to take note is that the natural oil droplets encased by the water should remain as a milky emulsion until they penetrate the leather.
It should not separate out as large drops or as layer of oil, which could not penetrate the leather fiber and would only give a greasy useless surface layer with no benefit to the leather.
Ideally, the most effective method of “spray fatliquoring” is to apply to damp leathers after cleaner3.8™ and rinse3.0™.
Quick absorption by the leather when it is applied to dry absorbent light colored leathers often result in dark-colored greasy patches.
Furthermore, the end result is not as soft, flexible or full compared to when it is applied to the damp plump-up leather.
Therefore when applied to damp leather into the intimate fibrilliary structure will have better pronounced increase in softness, flexibility, fullness and strength.
superCleaner4.0™ is leather pH 4.0 balanced aqueous mild acidic super preconditioner.
Developed as a preconditioner for restoration cleaning or as a first steps preconditioner prior to color refinishing.
Designed to works safely in harmony with leather, suede and nubuck tanning agent, dyestuff, fatliquor and finishes.
Formulated to acts like a superior solvent type cleaner without the solvent negative effect to the leather finishes.
Allows sufficient "dwell time" to penetrate deep into the leather for grease based soil emulsification, deflocculation and suspension to occur.
Effectiveness includes newsprint and blue jean color transfer from light colored leather, nubuck and suede.
Heavy spottings or silicone strippings especially auto/car use Ink7.7™spotter for non-absorbent leathers and superSpotter4.6™ safer on absorbent leathers.
Preparation:
Identify, inspect, dry soil removal & safety setup before application.
Instruction:
Shake well, spray evenly and agitate with leatherBrush1™, nubuckBrush2™ or suedeBrush3™ accordingly.
Let dwell 5 to 10 minutes before proceeding with cleaner3.8™ and rinse3.0™ for a residue free clean.
cleaner3.8™ is leather pH 3.8 balanced aqueous mild acidic relaxer-cum-cleaner.
Designed to works safely in harmony with its tanning agent, dyestuff, fatliquor and finishes.
Developed for a safe and effective general cleaning for all types of leather (finished and unfinished) and suede (nubuck and suede).
Cleaning includes all synthetic and natural fabric except rayon and silk.
Formulated for effective soil penetration, lubrication and suspension through chemical reaction without the negative effect commonly associated with soap, alkaline and solvent ingredient cleaners.
Preparation:
Identify, inspect, bleeding test, wet rub test, dry soil removal & safety setup before cleaning.
Instruction:
Shake well, spray evenly over the entire surface a cushion, section or panel at a time.
Agitate with leatherBrush1™, nubuckBrush2™ or suedeBrush3™ accordingly.
Then extract suspended soil with a dry absorbent towel.
Normal color transfer onto towel is acceptable from over dyed aniline, nubuck or suede.
Proceed with rinse3.0™ for a residue free clean.
rinse3.0™ is leather pH 3.0 balanced mild acidifier-cum-rinse.
Designed to works safely in harmony with leather tanning agent, dyestuff, fatliquor and finishes.
Developed to safely and effectively neutralize and remove harmful alkaline soil and perspiration residue from all types of leather (finished & unfinished) and suede (nubuck & suede).
Rinsing includes all synthetic and natural fabric except rayon and silk.
Formulated to further enhance, stabilize and strengthen the leather chemistry integrity.
Enhance the cationic charge to the leather intimate fibrillary structure below the iso-electric point.
Plumps and acidifies the leather structure for anionic fatliquor5.0™ to have a rapid ionic fixative bond.
Instruction:
Spray evenly damp, optional lightly agitate with leatherBrush1™, nubuckBrush2™, or suedeBrush3™ accordingly.
Then extract clean with a dry absorbent towel until towel shows free of soil.
Rotating towel frequently as its surfaces become soil saturated.
Repeat soil suspension as necessary or until towel shows free of soil.
Proceed with fatliquor5.0™ while it is still damp.
fatliquor5.0™ is the non-immersion cold spray version of the tannery immersion warm drum fatliquoring system.
Developed to replenish original fatliquor diminishes through cleaning and ageing.
An anionic charged formulation for superior polarity bonding with the cationic charged leather fibrils.
Designed with a leather pH balanced value of 5.0 for superior penetrations, effective softening qualities and increasing the leather rip resistance tensile strength.
Fatliquor is the lifeblood of leather.
On application white milky microemulsion fatliquor penetrate deep into the leather as microscopic droplets.
Once impregnated onto the leather fibrils and exhausted, the excess water evaporates leaving no greasy residue on the leather surface.
These droplets bind to the leather fibrils and keep it separated from collapsing.
This is unlike non-drying oil which stays on the leather surface that cannot penetrate the leather or stuffing oil that bleeds resulting in a mere greasy surface layer with no real physical benefit to the leather.
Frequent fatliquoring seasons some lighter colored suede, nubuck and especially equestrian leather.
Fatliquoring plumps up the leather with fullness and maintain its three dimensional size as well as providing lubrication to the leather fibrils.
It relaxes coarse breaks, provides drapes, suppleness and prevents cracking.
It helps keep the leather at its optimum physical performance and prevents premature ageing.
Note:
For direct dry application, dilute with distilled water 1:1-10 & test for darkening effect on light colored leather & suede after complete dry prior to actual application.
It is most ideal to apply direct on damp leather after cleaner3.8™ and rinse3.0™ for better resultant appearance and softness.
Instruction:
Ensure it is milky like fresh milk otherwise warm up (room temperature) and shake well.
Spray on cleaned damp surface evenly and massage (semi-absorbent) to allow even absorption into the thickness of the leather.
For non-absorbent leathers, the fastest access is by the suede side.
Light stretching while soaking through will improve those unwanted creases & coarse break for light fashion garment and gloves
Natural slow drying preferred for extra softness.
When dry, staking, milling, massaging, flexing or stretching seam to seam will get the leather as soft as you wish.
