This looks like a standard aniline, which is very dried out besides the head and body grease.
The top coating is all deteriorated and worn out too.

From where you have left off you need to further degrease and remove the old and deteriorated top coat.

Refinish with a new top coat and condition it.

However the entire process should involved in this sequence:

A) Prep Clean the entire chair:
Processing by - prepClean4.4 > clean3.8 > rinse3.0.

B) Degrease the oil and grease areas:
Processing by - d’Grease2.2 > rinse.

C) Fatliquoring System:
Processing by - hydrator3.3 > fatliquor5.0 > rinse3.0

D) Remove deteriorated and worn-out top coating:
Processing by - razor60 > 1500 sanding grit if necessary and remove all dust residue with towel or vacuum.
This can be done while the leather is wet to remove top coating and or dry again.

E) Refinish Top Coating:
Use - anilineTop79M (matte)

F) Non-Stick Buttery Feel Conditioning with a Classic Leather Scent:
Use - leatherScent’B
