First pictures shows areas being blotchy after Prep 4.4 how should we proceed to correct? Also the last picture the dye does not want to adhere to the leather, Aniline and pigment do not seem to be going on correctly leaving a blotchy appearance. Nichole is working on these pieces and is off today so she can answer more questions tomorrow. I just wanted to get some pictures over with the problems on it to get a head start. Thank you for your time.

Blotchy appearance shows present of body oil and grease will need Degreaser-2.2 > Acidifier-2.0 > Hydrator-3.3 system.

Dry prep with Eraser-4 > Sand2000 and adhesion coating with Adhesor-73 improves adhesion.

I have followed those steps already, Sanded and used adhesor 4 times now. Aniline dye wont absorb at all and the micro pigment is just beading up on the surface.

Need to redo Degreaser-2.2 > Acidifier-2.0 > Hydrator-3.3 > Surfactant-3.6 (inspect for surface tension, otherwise redo until surface tension is eliminated)
Dry prep with Eraser-4 > Sand2000 and adhesion coating with Adhesor-73 improves adhesion.

For your reading . . .

Surfactant-3.6 is a pH 3.6 leather-safe water-based surface-active-agent solution for lowering the surface tension so as to improve structure penetration to give better adhesion properties. It also facilitates the penetration and distribution of impregnation resin and adhesion coating. And also improves the uniformity of dyestuff staining thus reducing blotchiness.

Instruction:

1 Spray over absorbent surface, brush-in accordingly to break surface tension for an even appearance.

2 Towel extract until it shows dry and is ready to proceed with desired application.
